The Musical Arts Center of San Antonio, Inc. offers a priceless opportunity for you and your family to create and nurture an abiding love for music. MACSA's faculty members, respected private and group music educators with over 300 years of collective teaching experience, are committed to "Building a Foundation for Lifelong MusicSM" for students of any age and any level of ability.
MACSA Piano Teachers are encouraged to participate in ongoing teacher training. We have a mentoring program for new teachers, as well as Professional Development Seminars and Pedagogy Training with some of the top piano teachers in Texas. These master teachers, the MACSA Piano Coaches, are also available for individual coaching sessions with MACSA piano students. The coaches also offer advice and support for your regular teacher so that MACSA piano students have access to the most effective teaching concepts in the world of piano.
Created With Only One Purpose in Mind
The Musical Arts Center of San Antonio, Inc. was founded by Texas Pre-College Teacher of the Year (2000) Kenneth Thompson, who envisioned a facility where San Antonio-area students and families could find the best music instruction available. His vision became a reality in August 1999, when MACSA opened at 12732 Cimarron Path, conveniently located off De Zavala Road and IH-10 West on San Antonio's northwest side. The MACSA facility was designed by Mr. Thompson and built from the ground up to his specifications. It consists of fourteen private studios (most with grand pianos), a Performance Hall with a Yamaha C5 grand piano, and two waiting areas. In July 2006, a second MACSA location emerged conveniently located at 410 & 281. As of July 2009, MACSA II moved to the Stone Oak Area and is now open! Find us at: 700 E. Sonterra Blvd, Suite #206 SATX 78258. We are in the Plaza at Concord P
ark which is a beautiful retail development at the corner of Sonterra and Sigma. Other tenants include: The Lion & Rose, Moon Mippy, FedEx/Kinkos, Wine Styles, Kumori, SlowZone etc. I have been working towards this goal since we opened our first location nearly ten years ago. Many of our current students have long struggled to reach us from the Stone Oak area. Struggle no more! We are now in one of Stone Oak's prime retail centers!
Building a Foundation for Lifelong Music
There are many fine music teachers in San Antonio. Finding them is a challenge. The teachers at MACSA have been handpicked for their dedication to producing long term results in their students. "Building a foundation for lifelong music" means that a student will be encouraged to develop the proper music reading and technical skills that are necessary to make music a part of their lives forever. To become a master of music a student must understand how music works, how practice works, and how their own mind and body work as a vessel for musical expression and communication. Each teacher at MACSA is dedicated to helping their students reach these goals.
At the Musical Arts Center of San Antonio we foster a love for music, give students the skills to express that love and set them on a lifelong journey of experiencing the beauty and joy that only music can bring to their world.
