Alamo Music Center had its humble beginnings in 1929 as
little more than a way to survive The Great Depression. Alfredo
Flores Sr. began his business on the front porch of an old house
in San Antonio and expanded the business to fit the needs of musicians
and the music loving public. Things have changed since 1929 but
one thing has remained constant, the company refuses to let go of
the belief that there should always be a strong emphasis on the
customer and their needs. Alfredo Flores Sr., now in his 90's, still
visits the store regularly to see if things are up to his standards.
Alamo Music Center has extensive experience in the sales
and service of pianos and represents some of the finest piano
manufacturers
including; Pearl River, Chickering, Wurlitzer and Yamaha. In the Band
& Orchestra fields we carry Buffet, Emerson, Glaesel, Ludwig, Selmer,
Yamaha and many others. Alamo Music Center is a full time musical
equipment dealership with an extensive line of electronics, guitars
and other fretted instruments, percussion and stringed instruments,
and music learning tools. Walk into any Alamo Music Center, there
are three, and you will be amazed at the immediate attention you
receive. There is a strong bond between the company and employees,
many of which are working musicians with the knowledge and expertise
to help you find the instrument or equipment you need.
Alamo Music Center government sales division, San Antonio
Music, is a certified government contractor. It has the ability
to do business with various government entities such as the General
Services Administration including the Dept. Of Defense, Dept. Of
Justice, and other federally funded institutions. Using EDI, VAN

wide.
Alamo Music Center prides itself on being a family business.
Alfredo Flores Jr. stands as the present leader of the company.
From the beginning it has been actively involved in community and
music industry projects. Alfredo Jr. has continued a proactive roll
in the community by sitting on several boards such as The Arts and
Cultural Center Board, The National Association Of Music Merchants,
American Music Conference and served as President of the National
Association of Music Merchants.
Alamo Music Center maintains, with dedicated conviction,
that music is for everyone. Alfredo Sr. recalls of the depression
years," Even in the country's most trying times music and art flourished.
It was and will always serve as a form of expression and entertainment."
As long as there is interest in making music, Alamo Music Center
will serve the world the finest musical instruments, equipment and
service it has to offer.
