Trumpet

If you are new to band instruments, we have some great knowledge on what to look out for when buying a trumpet! If you don't find what you are looking for on our site, please give us a call at (210-224-1010) Downtown or (210-525-1010) Babcock so that we can answer any questions you may have!

For us to serve you better, please consult your band director on the

preferred instrument so that we can get you the perfect instrument to satisfy everyone!

First: New, Used, or Rent? We offer all three choices. New is more reliable, sounds great, just costs a little more. Used is perfect for anyone starting out. Rent is also good for those who are not sure what instrument they would like to play. I am pleased to say that we offer all three choices.

Second: Silver vs. lacquer? The main difference is silver costs a bit more but both have great sound quality.

Third: Student, intermediate, professional level? What level would you like. In today's market, the yamaha trumpet we recommend will last a long time and has good sound quality as well.

For Beginners we recommend:

Trumpet: Yamaha YTR200AD/YTR2335

Student level durability, gold brass leadpipe for durability and a redesigned case make this the perfect Advantage Trumpet. The precise fit between valve casings and pistons after honing means no air leakage. The precise fit between valve casings and pistons after honing means no air leakage.Perfectly rounded tubing results in less turbulence and a smoother air flow, thus allowing for an excellent scale and reduced resistance. A high-energy laser fuses the brass together for a virtually seamless bell which allows continuous even vibrations. Nickel silver is a very strong material, and when used at stress points, makes the instrument far more durable. Delrin one-piece valve guides are durable and quieter than metal valve guides. Assists in intonation.

Intermediate (high school-college)

Yamaha YTR-4335G B flat

trumpet at alamo music centerThe YTR-4335G has been designed by the same team that produces our top-of-the-line professional models and shares many of the same qualities, like a rich full tone with accurate intonation, and the ability to either blend with the ensemble or project a solo. It features Monel pistons for quick and reliable valve action, a gold-brass bell for warm rich tone. The entire inner bore taper-from mouthpiece receiver to the bell-has been scientifically designed for beautiful tone color, comfortable response, and as much sound as you want.
