Eric Johnson is a world renowed guitar player that is notorius for his study of tone. His violin like lead sound and crystal clear clean tones are the envy of many a guitar player in search of the "Cliffs of Dover " bold strat tone. Eric is notorius for his incredibly well trained ear and painstaking attention to detail when it comes to his amps, cables, batteries, effects and MOST importatnly, his guitar! For years Eric played a well worn 1957 pre CBS Fender Stratocaster, with special voiced vinatage pickups. Many guitarists felt these tools were unqique to Eric but when he teamed up with Fender for his signature Stratocaster in 2005 he let the public into his "tone secrets", allowing every guitar player out there a shot at getting his coveted tone.
Specially voiced Eric Johnson single coils. Eric is said to be able to tell the difference in tone of different batteries in his effect pedals. IN OTHER WORDS, his ears are incredibly tuned to sonic differences and his custom guitar pickups are no exception. These pickups are wound to his exact specifications and are unavailable ONLY in his signature guitar.
Stratocaster shape made from a light 2 piece alder.
