Kawai Medallion Piano Studio Award Winners

Alamo Music Center and Kawai Pianos of America are honoring (MACSA) and its teachers with the Kawai Medallion Educator Studio Award which is awarded to the most outstanding music studios in the nation.

The Kawai Medallion Educator award recognizes pianos studios and its piano teachers for the outstanding work they provide the community. MACSA has been offering pianos lessons for over a two decades in San Antonio and is run by Kenneth Thomspon, whose vision is to bring beautiful music into San Antonio homes. Kenneth's piano students have won top prizes in many international, national competitions and nearly every competition in Texas. His students have gone on to the top music schools in the world such as Juilliard and Eastman Schools of Music. Many now perform concerts on the top stages of the world and have become teachers of great reputation." MACSA CEO Ken Thopmson shared, "MACSA is absolutely THRILLED and honored to receive the Kawai Medallion Educator Award for Best Piano Teaching Studio! For 22 years we have worked to bring the best in piano teaching to San Antonio and I am deeply grateful to Kawai Pianos and Alamo Music Center for honoring MACSA and our excellent teachers with exclusive honor!”

The first two teachers to receive the Kawai Medallion Educator Certificate are Kasumi Yoshizawa and Antonia Daskalova. They are both recognized for their excellence in teaching, and dedication to their students.

About Musical Arts Center of San Antonio

Kenneth Thompson, Founder & CEO

MACSA is a diverse, talented and highly trained group of teachers. We have a passion for opening the hearts and minds of our students to great music. We meet our students where they are and use music to bring out the best in them.  We teach them to add beauty to the world and to use music to give back to those in need. This requires a relentless focus on teaching quality and a passion for doing what is right for our students.

The most important teacher is the first teacher. The engagement, skill, passion and quality level of the first teacher will set you on a path of joy and discovery or struggle and disappointment. If you seek music lesson for fun, enrichment, emotional health, cognitive development, or to grace the concert stage choose that first teacher very carefully. Our musical growth is sacred ground. Choose the best teacher you can and behold the results as your child grows beyond what you thought was possible. MACSA has the best music teaching faculty in Texas. If you do not work with us – please find a teacher who is the best match. Finding the right teacher for your child at the right time in their development is more important than coming to us.
