Practicing at home shouldn't mean you have to compromise on quality. With the CN Series, Kawai pairs a size appropriate for homes and music schools with limited space with the sound and response of its grand pianos, and offers these models at a price ideal for beginner and intermediate students interested in taking lessons.

Through this combination, MMR Magazine named the CN Series "Digital Home Keyboard Line of the Year" in 2014 and 2017, and Music Inc. magazine distinguished it with a "Product Excellence Award" in 2014.

About the CN Series of Digital Pianos

Kawai crafted its CN Series to sound like you're playing on a grand in a concert hall and to provide key digital technologies that expand its capabilities.

With the CN Series' more recent models, audio equipment manufacturer Onkyo offered additional input for the sound delivery and speaker systems, improving the tone quality and dynamic possibilities once you place your fingers on the keys to play.

Today, Kawai CN Series digital pianos offer a combination of the following features:

    • Tones sampled from the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Concert Grand Piano, reproduced through Kawai's proprietary Progressive Harmonic Imaging technology.
    • Responsive Hammer III keyboard action, which delivers a more natural feel and resistance and helps reproduce dynamics and articulations with accuracy. The CN Series, in turn, provides the response of an acoustic piano with the convenience and compact design of a digital model.
    • Ivory Touch key surfaces have a natural texture that allows players greater control.
    • A clear, projecting sound system developed with components from Onkyo.
    • OLED display control panel.
    • Built-in Bluetooth™ functionality, allowing a CN Series digital piano to connect with your mobile device to play music or access an app.
    • The Grand Feel Pedal System, for even more tonal possibilities. Models offer soft, sostenuto and damper pedals, with a weighted sensation based on the Kawai EX concert grand piano.
    • USB capabilities to play MP3 or WAV files from the digital piano.
    • The ability to record and store up to three songs in the piano's internal memory, which can then be played back. This lets you listen to your performance to enhance your skills.
