Steel-Reinforced Keyslip
The keyslip-the long, narrow panel that runs along the front of the keys-can naturally warp or bend over time due to humidity, leading to sticking or rubbing keys. To prevent this, Kawai reinforces the keyslip with a heavy-gauge steel angle, ensuring it stays straight and stable in any environment. This added rigidity keeps the keys moving smoothly with virtually no risk of interference or sticking.

Keybed and Braces
The piano's keybed must be strong and stable to support the action assembly and maintain action regulation over years of heavy use.
