The Fender® American Vintage II series presents a remarkably accurate take on the revolutionary designs that altered the course of musical history. Built with period-accurate bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes and meticulously voiced, year-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship and tone.
In 1951, caught between the end of the "Broadcaster" name and the dawn of the "Telecaster," Fender shipped guitars with no model name on the headstock at all - and a legend was born. Informed by a telegram from Gretsch that the "Broadkaster" name had been registered for a drum kit, Fender began clipping the "Broadcaster" name from headstock decals until the new Telecaster decals were delivered. Seventy-five years later, the legend lives on in the 75th Anniversary American Vintage II 1951 Nocaster - a meticulous tribute to one of the most storied instruments ever made.
The 75th Anniversary American Vintage II 1951 Nocaster features an ash body finished in Nocaster Blonde and dressed in our exclusive Heirloom Lacquer treatment - an aged nitrocellulose finish carefully crafted to emulate the natural wear and patina of a vintage guitar that has spent decades in the hands of a player. The result is an instrument that doesn't just look vintage, it feels vintage, right out of the case. The substantial '51 "U"-shaped hard rock maple neck plays like a dream with a 7.25" radius fingerboard and vintage tall frets. True to the vintage accurate Nocaster specifications, the 12th fret face-dot spacing is narrow and the sole single Phillips-head fastener on the guitar is at the truss rod nut. The triple brass saddle bridge and single-line "Fender Deluxe" tuners deliver authentic Fender style, while the 75th Anniversary Blackguard Telecaster® pickups honor the guitar's direct lineage to the original - delivering that raw, chimey, unmistakable blackguard twang that started it all.
The instruments in the American Vintage II series are direct descendants of the original Fenders: designed for players with a fine appreciation for vintage Fender tone and feel and built with unmatched quality, down to the last screw. These are Fender electrics in their purest form - and none more historically charged than this. Fender American Vintage II 1951 Nocaster: 75 years of the guitar that had no name and changed everything.
HIGHLIGHTS
GLOSS HEIRLOOM NITROCELLULOSE LACQUER FINISH
Fender's Heirloom Nitrocellulose Lacquer in Blonde, as worn by the original 1951 Nocaster, arrives already aged with authentic checking and patina that is unmistakably Fender.
ASH BODY
Ash is a warm-toned wood with clear, bright highs, defined midrange, focused lows, and a beautiful grain pattern.
7.25" RADIUS MAPLE FINGERBOARD
The 7.25"-radius fingerboard provides the comfortable playing feel of a vintage instrument, while vintage-tall frets make it easier to bend notes without fretting out.
1951 "U"-SHAPE NECK
In 1951, Fender's necks were thick, substantial, and full in the hand - a chunky U-shape profile exactly as it was first produced.
75TH ANNIVERSARY BLACKGUARD TELECASTER® PICKUPS
Specially voiced to capture the raw, twangy tone of Fender's earliest Telecaster® designs, the 75th Anniversary Blackguard pickups honor seven decades of electric guitar history.
