What's old is new again with this Vintage Factory Refurbished LKSM12 from Taylor Guitars.
The Taylor LKSM12 is the iconic signature 12-string acoustic guitar designed in collaboration with legendary guitarist Leo Kottke, featuring a large jumbo body, Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and an ebony fretboard, built for to be tuned to low C# with heavy strings to produce a massive, piano-like sound. Twelve string guitars typically feature solid straight bracing to handle the tension of the 12 strings. The LKSM12 is built with scalloped bracing with a lower tuning and tension that provides it with the signature voice of powerful bass, cathedral-like resonance, and comfortable playability despite its size, with a focus on delivering Kottke's distinctive, orchestral tone.
This vintage guitar received a new neck from Taylor giving it a new lease on life. While the model was discontinued in 2001 this guitar features a new serial number to denote it's new lease on life. This is rare opportunity to own what is effectively an new "old" guitar.
