Guitar Wars 30 is right around the corner and we would be remiss to not mention our stellar panel of judges for this 30th anniversary event!  This year we've been fortunate enough to grab some of the brightest talent from the Alamo City, and we would like to recognize them and their impressive resumes!

David Arias has been a part of the SA music scene for over 10 years starting with alt rockers, The Uprising. Currently he is the lead guitarist of The Heroine, an established touring band of SA since 2005. His sponsorship from Jetslide guitar slides has helped him specialize in slide guitar riffs and solos in The Heroine’s rock n blues sound on their latest album, Wolf Mama.

Cooper Greenberg is a guitarist and singer-songwriter based out of San Antonio and Austin, Texas. Over the past several years, Cooper’s performing has brought him through some of Texas’ most historic and beloved venues, from the small stages of Austin’s 6th Street and San Antonio’s St. Mary’s Strip, to platforms as large as The Kerrville Folk Festival. He has also placed 1st in Alamo Music Center's Guitar Wars. In December 2016, Cooper released his debut EP "Wave Pool,” and the full band studio follow-up, “Dream Sequence” in December 2018, recorded at Matador Recording Studios.

Eddie Hernandez has been has been a leader and fixture in the San Antonio music scene for over three decades!  From indie, to metal, to Latino soul, to spinning your favorite platters around town; Eddie has and continues to fill San Antonio with his unparalleled sounds.  Presently you can find Eddie fronting the heavy metal band Maneaters of Tsavo.  Click on the image above to find out more about the forthcoming album from the San Antonio metal giants!

Tommy Munter began recording, mixing, and producing records in 1996 on his dad’s 8-track reel-to-reel tape machine. He has since toured the world as a musician, and worked closely with other talented professionals in the music industry— including Rich Williams (Burl Audio), Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters, Wallflowers), Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters), Daniel Mendez (Producer - Cord Carpenter, Lit, Heart, Dashboard Confessional). In 2016, Tommy founded Matador Recording Studios to offer a comfortable space to capture recordings the way they should be made: by combining nostalgic techniques and gear with a modern mind.
