TV News Feature: New Piano Puts Leawood Woman In ‘piano teacher heaven’ | Kawai Medallion Preferred Educator | Kansas City

We are happy to announce that Melody Stroth, our Kawai Medallion Award winner in Kansas City, has been featured on the local news and reported that she is "in piano teacher heaven" now that she has received this honor and a brand new Kawai Grand Piano to use at her teaching studio. Check out the new coverage below.

I’ve heard rave reviews from trusted technicians for years, but when I finally got the chance to play a Kawai grand, I knew why they loved them. The touch, the tone … I could play it all day!" - Melody Stroth

Melody Stroth received degrees from both the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music (Master of Music) and Oklahoma Baptist University (Bachelor of Music) in piano performance. Her major teachers have been Richard Cass and Charlotte Martin. A nationally certified teacher of music (NCTM), Melody has been recognized as the winner of the first National Federation of Music Clubs Ouida Keck Award for outstanding teachers, the recipient of the Kansas Music Teachers Association Outstanding Teacher of the Year award and the NFMC Missouri Church Musician of the Year. Her students have won local, state and national awards and are frequently chosen to play for visiting master teachers.

Melody belongs to both Federated Teachers of Music, Music Teachers National Association and Kansas City Music Teachers Association, where she currently serves as president. In addition to her teaching career, Ms. Stroth plays regularly all over the metropolitan area both as a pianist and in collaboration with others. Her most frequent collaborator is cellist Eman Chalshotori, with whom she performs frequently in the Midwest and has recorded a CD entitled, “Winterlude” (found on all streaming services). They both are a part of the eclectic Conservatory alum group of Vivant that concertizes and has recorded as well. In December of 2019 Ms. Stroth accompanied a 250-voice choir on stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City with composer/director Mark Hayes.
