MEET THE 2025 PLAYFUL PIANO JUDGE PANEL
Hannah Petersen
Hannah Petersen is a dedicated music educator and multi-instrumentalist based in San Antonio, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2021, where she refined her skills in piano performance, music theory, and pedagogy. Hannah began studying piano at the age of eight and soon joined a local children’s choir, laying the foundation for her strong aural, sight-reading, and vocal abilities. She has been teaching private piano lessons since 2018, working with students of all ages and skill levels. Her teaching approach emphasizes musicality, technical growth, and a well-rounded understanding of music.
As a performer, Hannah has competed in UIL events as well as A Cappella and barbershop quartet competitions. She is also a passionate lifelong learner, exploring a wide array of instruments including guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, and violin. In addition to her classical training, she performs actively in the San Antonio music scene with local groups such as Sue the Dinosaur and Eclipse: A Tribute to Journey, bringing versatility and energy to the stage.
Currently, Hannah teaches at the San Antonio Music Academy, where she is committed to inspiring and guiding the next generation of musicians.
Daniel Voeller
Daniel was born in San Antonio, TX and has been involved with the music scene ever since he was a young child. He has participated in orchestra, performed in many concerts, and won many contests. When he began playing piano at age six, he did so not knowing what an immense joy it would bring him. He began taking lessons at MACSA in 2015, and continued to do so throughout high school. In addition to piano, Daniel is also an accomplished banjo player and performer. At the age of fifteen, he became the Texas state banjo champion. Later that year he was a finalist in the National Bluegrass Banjo Championship. In addition to his personal accolades, he and his sisters began a band in 2017, and traveled around the country spreading joy to many people. He was invited in 2023 to Colorado to teach a week-long class for the Rocky Mountain Fiddle Camp. Through hard work playing his music, performing around the country with his band, and meeting many incredible people, Daniel has discovered the extent to which music can bring joy into other peoples lives. He is dedicated to glorifying God in his music and spreading joy that he found through it to other people. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in business from Liberty University’s online program, with plans to attend law school next fall.
Nadia Soree
Nadia Bohachewsky Soree is an American harpsichordist and pianist based in San Antonio, Texas. Known for her expressive and engaging performances, she is active as both a soloist and continuo player, with a passion for sharing early music and the harpsichord with audiences. Soree began her career as a pianist, earning a Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School, where she studied with Martin Canin, and also worked with Ilana Vered and Adam Wodnicki. She was featured on WQXR’s Young Artists Showcase, won first prize in the New Jersey Symphony Young Artist Competition, and performed at venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. A prizewinner in the Kosciuszko Foundation National Chopin Piano Competition, she developed a reputation for her interpretations of Chopin. While completing her Master of Music at Rutgers University, Soree discovered her love for the harpsichord under Charlotte Mattax Moersch. She went on to win first prize at the J.S. Bach International Harpsichord Competition in Montreal, was a laureate of the Southeastern Historical Keyboard Society Competition, and a finalist at the Musica Antiqua International Competition in Bruges. She later served as principal harpsichordist for the New Jersey Symphony, performing alongside artists such as Renée Fleming and Pinchas Zukerman. After earning a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School and a decade teaching law, Soree returned to music, completing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Harpsichord and Early Music at the University of North Texas. She now performs regularly in the San Antonio area, appearing with Sonido Barroco San Antonio, the Austin Baroque Orchestra, and in solo recitals, while serving on the music faculty at San Antonio College.
